What Costs Does Your Health Insurance Cover?
A significant change has taken place in the area of dental prosthetics due to a law amendment on January 1st, 2005. Members of statutory health insurances receive a so-called “well-founded fixed allowance” for a planned dental prosthesis treatment, regardless of whether the treatment is carried out in Turkey.
The total diagnosis created by your dentist must be documented in a treatment and cost plan. Based on this diagnosis your health insurance determines the standard care or fixed allowance. Even for high-quality prostheses such as implants, the fixed allowance is covered.
These regulations are valid under German law, also apply to dental prosthetics made abroad if they are medically necessary!
Please note that the treatment and cost plan must be submitted and approved by your health insurance before treatment.
You can submit your foreign invoice to your health insurance and receive the agreed-upon reimbursement.
This regulation applies to all EU member states!
For non-EU countries, health insurances have varying policies regarding the reimbursement of fixed allowances. In this case it is best to speak with your health insurance’s customer service representative.
