Scar-free Nose Correction in Istanbul
Nose corrections have established themselves in modern cosmetic surgery. In recent years, the treatments have developed almost into routine procedures and are frequently used. After all, the nose has a great influence on the overall appearance of a person. The olfactory organ sits centrally in the face and can be very stressful for the person concerned due to its size or shape. Often the self-confidence of its owner is weakened. Only a correction can help. In our clinics in Istanbul, cosmetic surgeons for rhinoplasty are increasingly using the so-called “closed nose correction” with the let down technique, in which the tip of the nose is not lifted.
More Self-confidence Through a Rhinoplasty
A surgical procedure on the nose can correct the shape, height, width and length of the nose. Our surgeon in Istanbul usually makes small incisions in the nasal mucous membrane that leave no scars. This “closed nose correction” requires many years of experience and a great deal of manual skill. Because the entire operation takes place in a narrow tunnel. A symmetry of the modelled cartilage is not visible at first glance and can only be felt by palpating the tip of the nose. But in contrast to “open nose correction”, later swelling during the healing phase – and also later – is significantly reduced due to the reduced exposure of the tip of the nose.
The Operation
The “closed rhinoplasty” is performed without the use of a chisel or surgical hammer. First the nose is photographed at eight different angles. Possible results can be discussed using the pictures. There are plenty of alternatives: the nose sponge can be removed, the tip of the nose can be lifted or the bridge of the nose can be raised. The asymmetries of the nostrils can also be changed. Basically, however, the structure of the nasal bones remains unchanged.
There is the upper nasal bone, the upper and lower nasal cartilage and the middle nasal septum. If there are humps on the nose, they are removed with special equipment without the use of a hammer. The bridge of the nose is then polished. The right and left sides of the septum are cut lengthwise and then two horizontal incisions are made at the top of the nose. At the nostrils, the upper parts are separated with a longitudinal cut. Then bone grafts previously removed are inserted into the incisions at the septum.
The horizontal graft, which holds the nasal seats, is fixed with a few stitches. Two further horizontal incisions ensure that the nose becomes even slimmer by subsequently compressing it. In addition, narrow silicone wings are inserted into the nose to stabilize the overall impression. The entire procedure leaves no externally visible scars.
Nose Surgery Before and After the Operation
Before the operation, the patient undergoes a pre-operative examination at our clinic, including blood sampling, ECG examination and analysis of his or her state of health. The operation itself usually takes about three to four hours. It is performed under general anesthesia. You should allow for an overnight stay at the clinic. Only a few days after the procedure, the patient can resume normal everyday activities. At first the nose is still supported by special supporting plasters. However, these can be gradually removed after two weeks. Tampons are used in the nose in their place.
